Kathleen wins English National Cross Country Championships 2015

Year 9 student Kathleen represented England's Junior Girls at the SIAB's (Schools International Athletic Board) International Cross Country Championship at Santry Demesne, Dublin, on 21st March, competing and winning against the best eight runners from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.  She won the 3k race by 7 seconds, with a time of 9 minutes and 40 seconds. 

This followed on from her winning performance at the English Schools Cross Country Championships on 14th March, where she came first out of a field of 345 Junior Girls cross country runners, representing 44 counties across England.  She completed the 3.2k course in Blackburn Lancashire in just 11 minutes and 3 seconds.  On 21st February at the English National Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill, London, Kathleen represented Tonbridge Athletic Club and crossed the finish line way ahead of 378 competitors after 4km in just 14 minutes 41 seconds. 

Kathleen has won all of her races this year starting with the Kent County Championships, Kent Schools’ Championships and South of England Athletics Association Championships in January.
