Lower Fifth Enter the Dragons' Den

15 March 2012

The Lower Fifth took their business plans in their hands last week as they entered the Walthamstow Hall 'Dragons' Den', the culmination of their Careers project this term. The students formed seven companies in which they created and made products, devised distribution and marketing strategies, budgets and sales forecasts and  conducted market research. They compiled their work into business plans before presenting to Mr Howson (Deputy Head), Mrs Boorman (Economics and Business Studies teacher) and Mrs Pelling (Head of Marketing).

The standard of the business plans and presentations from all seven companies was exceptionally high and after a great deal of deliberation the judges announced that Shakeaway, producers of a range of milkshakes flavoured like favourite puddings, had won the prize for best business plan and Vividye, manufacturers of tie dyed bags, were best overall team.

Vividye now go on to represent Walthamstow Hall at the Girls' School Association National Competition, Ahead of the Game which aims to 'inspire girls to become the entrepreneurs of the future'.

Many congratulations to all of the teams for their confident, ingenious and thorough presentations.
