National Schools Tournament, 2nd and 3rd March, Middlesex

The Senior team (pictured above) played at the National Schools Tournament at the weekend.

On the first day of the tournament our Senior Lacrosse team achieved two wins against Haberdashers' Askes and Glenalmond, drew with Stowe and Westonbirt and only lost to Downe House and St Swithuns. These results put them into Division 1 of the championship for the second day's play.

The team entered the second day of this tournament in Divison 1 of the championship where they faced some tough teams for the final day of play. The whole team raised their game for these matches and put in some determined and feisty performances, including a win against St Pauls.
Over the two days  the team made their coaches very proud, not just for their work ethic, their positive attitude and their high standard of play, but also for the support they gave to each other and how well they came together as a team. Their performance and results place them in the top 25 schools in the country and for this, the players deserve to be very proud of themselves.

U15 Lacrosse National Schools Tournament, 6th March

Yesterday a combined U14 and U15 lacrosse team played in the U15 National Schools tournament in Middlesex. The team faced some tough teams in their section and raised their game throughout the day to produce some excellent results.

They sailed through their first 3 matches beating Royal School and Marlborough and achieved an excellent win against Downe House, who were the top seeded team in the section.
They lost only 1 match against a very strong team from Moreton Hall, which meant they had to win their final match against St Albans to win a place in the play-offs. In a nail-biting game, the lead changed hands several times and the team fought hard to pull back from a 1 goal deficit to bring the scores level. Unfortunately they ran out of time to secure a victory and their draw meant they missed out a play-off place by 1 point.

The team played with heart and spirit throughout the day and should be very proud of the high standard of their lacrosse. Well done to all the players who represented the school so well in this tournament.
