Kent Primary Swimming Championships

Junior School swimmers enjoyed a very successful day of swimming at the Kent Primary Championships yesterday, including 2nd and 3rd places in relays and personal bests. The success in the pool rounded of a great week of sport at the Junior School which also saw the Year 3 Netball team finish 2nd at the Hazelwood Netball Tournament after conceding only 1 match.

Individual Events

The girls produced excellent performances in their individual races with significant personal best times produced by all swimmers.

Martha (Year 5)                      50m Breaststroke      Achieved 2nd place.

Martha as a Year 5 swimmer still has another year in this age group and competed mainly against girls in the year above (Year 6).

Felicity (Year 6)                       50m Butterfly           Achieved 4th place

Again the performances were outstanding with team times from both events more than 2 seconds faster than the girls had swum previously.

Well done to all the girls on a very successful afternoon against the best primary school swimmers within the county. Also a Special thanks to Mrs Carr who assisted pool side and everyone who came along to watch and support the girls during the competition.

On a further note, due to achieving a top 3 finish in both relays, Walthamstow Hall is now awaiting official confirmation regarding qualification into at least 1 relay event for the South East Regional School Championships.
