Katherine joins Rebuild Mexico trip

15 January 2013

Members of the Year 10 form LVW gave an inspiring presentation to the rest of the school last Friday raising awareness of their classmate Katherine Hill's forthcoming trip to Mexico as a member of the Urban Saints Rebuild Mexico 2013 Project.

Rebuild Mexico is an 11 day overseas project run by Urban Saints to Tijuana in Mexico. It is centred around providing homes for Mexican families living in poverty. During the 11 days Katherine will be in involved in everything from setting up camp to building foundations, walls, the roof and fixing windows and doors. She will also be taking part in sports, crafts and prayer activities around the worksite during her stay.

Katherine told her fellow students, 'I was handed this opportunity and felt I couldn't deny it, as the idea of improving peoples' quality of life is something not everybody has the chance to do."

During break time LVW also had a cake sale to help raise funds for Katherine's trip.

We wish Katherine the very best of luck on her trip, which we very much look forward to hearing about when she returns.
