Julia recognised as 'change agent'

08/03/2016

We were proud to hear that Walthamstow Hall old girl, Professor Julia Downing, has been recognised as a 'change agent in oncology', in a report published today to mark International Women's Day. The 'Women as change agents in Oncology' report 'celebrates women from around the world who are making remarkable contributions in reducing the devastating impact cancer has upon individuals and societies, providing hope and inspiration through their determination to change the future of cancer care.'

Current Walthamstow Hall Sixth Formers were very fortunate last year to listen to an inspiration talk by Professor Downing as part of the Sixth Form Lecture Programme.

Many congratulations to Julia on this recognition of her pioneering international work in palliative care, notably in Uganda and across the African continent.
