Full speed ahead for runners and swimmers

13 June 2013

Walthamstow Hall runners and swimmers have achieved incredibly fast race times this term.

Year 7 Kathleen Faes won the 1200m race at the National Youth Athletics League, in an amazing 3 minutes 44.9 seconds, a result which has put her at the very top of the UK league table for her age group at this distance. Kathleen also won the U13 1500m race at the Kent Schools Athletics Championships at the beginning of June in a time of 5 minutes and 3 seconds.

Year 8 Genevieve Allan also competed in the 1500m at the Kent Schools Athletics Championships, running against girls from the year above her age group. She achieved an impressive 6th place, a personal best and county standard time.

In the pool, Year 8 Ninah Strydom has qualified for the 100m and 200m backstroke and Year 9 Isabella Woods has qualified for the 100m Butterfly and the 100m and 200m freestyle relays at the British National Swimming Championships to be held in Sheffield in July.

Many congratulations to all of our runners and swimmers, we wish them all the very best in their future competitions this season.
