Tournament successes

30 November 2018

It's a case of early success for our Year 7 and 8 footballers.

They travelled to Charlton Athletic Training Ground yesterday - along with 17 other teams from the local area - to compete in the first round of the EFL Girls Cup.

This is a six-a-side competition for U13 girls that culminates in a grand final at Wembley Stadium in March.

Our side performed above all expectations, beating schools such as Charles Darwin, Newstead Wood and John Roan, on their way to winning their group.

Harder competition came in the semi-final, which they won in a tense penalty shootout.

Their best performance was in the final, where they sealed a 1-0 victory to win the whole tournament.

They will now represent Charlton Athletic against seven other teams in the South Regional Finals.

Congratulations to team members: Annabel, Honor, Irede, Laura, Letty. Lily, Olivia and Willow. They also won praise from the event organisers who told us they were worthy winners because they "played brilliantly, were very well-behaved and played in good spirits".

Well done girls, we are really proud of you.

Netball success: our U15 team have delivered a fantastic performance in the latest round of the Independent Schools Netball Cup.

They played well throughout the match to secure a final score of 36-25 to Wally.  Congratulations to: Abigail, Cara, Emily, Isobel, Jasmine, Nina, Polly, Scarlett and Sophie. We are very proud of you too.
