Flo's year in Cambodia

2011 Leaver Flo Barker came into school last week after returning from her gap year spent working in an orphanage in Cambodia.

Flo set off for the orphanage, just outside Phnom Penh, last September and has helped to look after the 47 children who live there for the past 11 months. As the only English speaker at the orphanage one of Flo's first tasks was to quickly become fluent in Khmer. Flo was also able to put skills that she had learnt through her Sixth Form volunteering work to the test.

During the summer holidays Flo was joined by her sister, current Head Girl, Rosie Barker and fellow 2011 leaver Caroline Ferguson.

We all wish Flo every success as she embarks on her next adventure, studying Modern History at Cardiff University.
