Curling success

9 January 2019

Our curling news is headlined by Mia in Year 13, (centre) who is in Finland with the England Junior Women's Team, at the World Junior-B Curling Championships.

Mia's team reached the quarter finals and finished fifth out of 21 teams competing; an impressive result considering the team formed less than a year ago and this was their first international outing.

Their quarter final was against Russia, who were relegated from Group A last year and against whom they lost 5-10.

Back home, a School team competed in a tournament at Fenton's Curling Rink, near Tunbridge Wells at the weekend.

Five teams took part and the students, Emily (Y12), Eva (Y12), Daisy (Y9) and Eleanor (Y8) came third, after winning two and losing two matches. One of their losses was very close run, by just one point against a boys' team from Judd.
