Cross Country English Finals

8 December 2015

On Saturday, our Junior and Intermediate cross country running teams competed at the English Schools Athletic Assocation Cross Country Cup Final 2015.

Our teams ran very well in extremely windy conditions against the best school runners in the UK.

Walthamstow Hall Juniors were the only school from Kent to qualify for the Junior race and finished 15th out of the 25 schools competing. Well done especially to Roseanna Allan who competed amongst a field of 145 runners despite illness over the past week.

M. Moore 33rd
A. Williams-Walker 42nd
L. Miles 78th
R. Allan 98th
T. Goldworthy 143rd
E. Swindin 144th

In the Intermediate girls race Kathleen Faes came first out of 143 of the best school runners in the UK by a huge margin, and with the rest of the Intermediate team achieved 7th place, with Millfield winning first place.  25 schools had qualified to take part.

K. Faes 1st
E. Miller 15th
R. Smith 62nd
V. Milana 68th
E. Butler 73rd
E. O'Shea Forsdick 128th

The success at National finals followed on from Year 9 Elizabeth Miller's fantastic win at the Kent County Athletics Association's U15 Cross-Country League on 28th November.
