Anyone for tea?
5 July 2011
The Upper Fifth (Year 11) transformed classrooms in the Salmon Wing into the venue for a traditional tea party this afternoon. Row upon row of hand-made bunting was strung from the ceilings and roses were arranged on tables to set the scene for the annual party held for residents of the Peckham Settlement, a charity supported by Walthamstow Hall since the beginning of the last century. Each year Upper Fifth students create a different party, laying on food and entertainment for their elderly guests.
Whilst some students chatted to guests and served tea and sandwiches, others performed sketches and songs and hosted a quiz, bingo and a final sing-a-long all of which contributed a very happy afternoon for our visitors.
