American Pre-U exchange

Walthamstow Hall and Eastchester High School from New York State have initiated and just completed the first Cambridge Pre-U study exchange with Eastchester students spending a week in school with their Walthamstow Hall counterparts.

The link came about after the two schools collaborated, sharing work and ideas on their research topics, in lessons using Skype.

During their visit the Eastchester students spent time in school lessons as well as visiting London and Cambridge where both schools took part in the making of a short film about Cambridge Pre-U.

Ann Puntis, Chief Executive University of Cambridge International Examinations said;

 "This collaboration that Eastchester High and Walthamstow Hall have included as part of their Cambridge Pre-U Global Perspectives and Research course gives students a unique opportunity to engage in an international debate with their peers and develop a wider understanding of global issues. We know that global outlook is essential for employers - in a recent survey carried out by Think Global, 93 percent of businesses surveyed said it is important for schools to help young people think more globally...This is just one of many examples of how Cambridge Pre-U takes education beyond the classroom and prepares students with the skills needed for success at school, university and beyond."

Walthamstow Hall is planning to visit Eastchester High for the return leg of the exchange early next year.
