A Midsummer Night's Dream

28 June 2012

A group of Lower Fifth (Year 10) Drama students gave a one-off performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream to pupils at Chevening Primary School yesterday. The special performance came about as pupils at both schools have been studying the comedy this term.

Going out 'on the road' and performing away from of the familiar surroundings of the Ship Theatre was a new experience for some of the young actors but they took it all in their stride. Speaking afterwards, Walthamstow Hall Head of Drama, Mrs Bower-Morris said,

"It was such a fantastic trip. The girls gave all they had and the children were captivated. I was very proud of them."

The riveting performance followed in the wake of the incredible news that 86% of the 179 students who took Trinity Guildhall Drama exams this term passed at the highest level, gaining Distinctions, with 14% gaining the next high 'Merit' grade. Many congratulations to them all.
