History and Government & Politics

History is a fascinating subject, not only for its wealth of enthralling stories but also for the insights it can give us into the world we inhabit today. We in the History Department have as our prime teaching objective the aim of making all girls enjoy History, and we do our best to keep the subject interesting and relevant, through a variety of teaching methods and activities, both in and outside the classroom.

In 2011 the History Department won the Good Schools' Guide Award for the best teaching of History in a Sixth Form in a UK Independent Girls' School.
