Mr Philip Smith BSc, Dip BA, MI Chem E, MI Gas E, CEng

Phil Smith joined the Governing Body in 2005 and is currently Chairman of the Premises Committee. He was educated at The Manchester Grammar School, Leeds University (Chemical Engineering) and the The Manchester Business School. Now retired, his entire career was in the gas industry working in Blackburn, Plymouth, Bath, Swindon and Manchester before moving to the South East and becoming the Director of Engineering of British Gas. He was also Chairman of the Technical Committees of the International Gas Union. Phil is a Trustee and the Treasurer of The Retreat Almshouses and a member of The Drive Methodist Church.
