Misleading National League Tables
Walthamstow Hall, alongside many leading independent schools, does not submit examination results data to the national league tables published in national newspapers.
These schools took this decision a number of years ago when it became clear that such tables were unable to accommodate independent school examination result data creating misleading league rankings.
The league tables, notably the Government league tables, do not currently take into account IGCSE scores and the fact that independent schools enter candidates out of their normal school year group. As Walthamstow Hall offers many subjects at IGCSE, in preference to GCSE, and enters all girls for their Religious Studies GCSE in year 10 our raw data cannot be meaningfully represented in league tables.
In addition, this year sees the first set of Cambridge Pre-U examination results. We wait to see how these results will be included in national league tables.
